After the Summer break, it‘s back to racing at the fourth round of the FIA GT3 European
Championship at the Autodromo do Algarve. The Buchloe race team will field two BMW ALPINA
B6 GT3s, just as at the Oschersleben round. B6 GT3 #24 will be piloted by the usual suspects:
Hürtgen and Walter. Car #25 will again be driven by Jens Klingmann. The 19-year-old acquitted
himself brilliantly in bringing home the B6 GT3’s maiden victory, along with Andreas Wirth, at the
ADAC GT Masters race at the Nürburgring.
The #25 B6 GT3 will be in no less capable hands this weekend in Portimao. Appearing in his first
race for ALPINA, Martin Matzke will join Jens behind the wheel. Martin drove for the Rosberg Audi
R8 team before the Summer break.
So it looks like another exciting race meet this weekend, on the hot Portimao asphalt in southernmost
Algarve, packed full of thrilling, tight racing.
