Review:ALPINA Factory team races both cars at Paul Ricard, Southern France

The fifth round of the FIA GT3 European Championship will take place this weekend, the 3rd and 4th of October, on the Circuit Paul Ricard in southern France. ALPINA will again send two cars into the fray. ALPINA’s car #24 continues to be driven by permanent drivers Claudia Hürtgen (GER) and Csaba Walter (HUN). The #25 B6 GT3, on the other hand, will be driven for the 2nd time by the 19-year-old “Wild Ones” Jens Klingmann (GER) und Martin Matzke (CZE), who more than ably showed their mettle in their first race in the Algarve.

The 5.81km-long race course near the Côte d‘Azur was the scene of ALPINA successes in years past. No less than Jackie Ickx and James Hunt came 2nd here in the 1973 European Touring Car championship behind the factory BMW. The Buchloe-based team are eagerly looking forward to this weekend, and will do their best to achieve similar successes...
